My Breast Advice Ever

When I was first asked to discuss the Breast Advice Ever, I immediately felt pressure; is it possible to give or receive “good advice” to girls whose worlds have been turned upside down?

I don’t think there’s any “one” person or “one” piece of advice that will absolutely change your perspective on things and fix your problems. Rather, accumulating advice from others in similar shoes is really the breast that you can do.

The best advice I personally received when my mom was diagnosed was to talk to other girls whose moms had or have cancer. The problem is, I didn't exactly know where to start. Ultimately, when I did find these people, knowing that others had been through something similar changed everything.

To this day, the deepest and most rewarding conversations I've had in my life have been with people who have lost someone in their life. They're my people.

So…if someone close to you in your life is dying or has died. Hey! You're my people.

What's the best advice you've ever received? Please let me know by commenting below - you can also message me through @DaughtersOfSickParents on Instagram. I truly want to know!

Here is a sneak peak from the article:

"CARVE OUT SPACE FOR YOURSELF—Use this new chapter in your life as an opportunity to ask yourself what it is that you’d like to do for yourself moving forward. When your mom receives a cancer diagnosis, it can definitely put things into perspective. I know it did for me. Maybe there’s a change you need to make in your own life. It doesn’t have to be drastic right off the bat. What is one small thing you can do this week that will serve you? Book a massage, a manicure, or a facial. Go to Pilates or yoga or just walk down the block. Take a weekend trip somewhere you’ve always wanted to go. Right away. You absolutely deserve this. Literally, right after you finish reading this… go book something nice for yourself!"
